Spa Massage Therapist

Scope of Position

The Massage Therapist is responsible for performing professional massage therapy and body treatments to guests and members. He/she will remain current with industry standards and trends. The Massage Therapist also provides luxury quality attention and service to guests and members.

Position Requirements:

• Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment.
• Graduate from an accredited school of massage with a massage license.
  Minimum 2200-hour course preferred.
• Safety Oriented First Aid.
• CPR Basic Rescuer.
• Minimum 2 years practical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all 60, 90 and 120-minute massage and body treatments, as certified/trained to do so.
• Ensure individualized guest service through acknowledging and responding to needs and expectation.
• Review of information in Spa Soft, including guest notes prior to each treatment.
• Review of medical history/waiver.
• Maintain clean and neat work environment; ensuring equipment for body treatments and personal equipment is in safe working order.
• Maintain an ample supply of massage oils, towels, sheets, and other necessary supplies in a neat and orderly fashion within the massage work area.
• Interact and answer all facility-related questions for members and guests in a courteous manner.
• Promote spa services to members and hotel guests.
• Maintain current professional Florida State licenses.
• Remain well versed in all aspects of the Spa operation. Be knowledgeable of telephone etiquette, guest relations, Spa Services and Retail sales.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures as well as safety practices.
• Attend departmental meeting as scheduled.
• Participate in training for all pertinent facility operations.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, must be physically fit to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk, sit for extended periods.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crouch.
• Must use hands to reach, grasp, handle, pull and push.
• Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity.
• Must be able to hear, talk, smell.
• Use and exposure to chemicals, fumes, and odors.
• Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
