The City of Blair, NE is seeking a Programming Coordinator to join the team at the Blair Public Library and Technology Center! This full-time position plays a key role in creating engaging programs for children, teens, and adults-helping bring our library's mission to life through education, creativity, and community connection.

What You'll Do
Plan, organize, and present engaging programs and events for all ages, including story times, summer reading activities, and special community events.
Provide reference and reader's advisory services to children, teens, and adults using books, databases, and digital resources.
Promote library services and programming to increase community engagement.
Assist with evaluating and selecting library materials and maintaining organized collections.
Support the overall operations of the Youth Services Department, ensuring an inviting and functional space.
Prepare materials for shelving, assist with collection maintenance, and locate missing or requested items.
Collaborate with the Manager of Programming, Teen Librarian, and other staff on special projects and library initiatives.
What You Bring
Education :
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Library Science or a related field.
Experience :
Previous library or public service experience is preferred.
Experience coordinating events or programs is highly valued.
Compensation within the listed range will be based on experience and qualifications.
Skills :
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Strong leadership and collaboration abilities.
Knowledge of children's and young adult literature, both current and classic.
Ability to prioritize, solve problems, and adapt to evolving technology.
Commitment to friendly, professional public service and teamwork.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a welcoming, collaborative library environment. This position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends on a regular basis , depending on programming needs.
