Mechanical Applications Engineer

Overview

Mechanical Application Engineer – Location : La Grange, GA area. Job type : Permanent / Full-Time. Hybrid schedule : 3 days a week in LaGrange office and 2 days a week at home after completion of training and evaluation time (1 to 3 months, depending on candidate).

Travel : 5-15%.

Our global foundry solutions client is seeking an Applications Engineer for a full-time hybrid opportunity based in the Atlanta GA area.

Responsibilities

• Review request for quotation (RFQ) for clarification and definition. Contact offsite account managers and customers for further clarification and definition.
• Review "provided" customer specifications (mechanical drawings and technical write-ups) for scope of supply analysis.
• Develop new technical proposals.
• Design and / or draw concepts to meet customer requirements via CAD (20% of proposals prepared required).
• Acquire costing data for computing margin pricing via company computer systems and programs.
• Calculate selling price according to company guidelines, procedures, and processes.
• Maintain organized proposal logs and files in company designated databases.
• Create and maintain full costing traceability and accuracy.
• Develop and implement customer specific proposals.
• Technical assistance to offsite account managers.
• Meeting scheduled deadlines.
• Participate in company constant improvement programs.

Requirements

Education : Relevant bachelor's degree (four-year college or university) in engineering (mechanical preferred) or if degree isn't finished 3 to 10 equivalent work experience.

Experience : 0 – 5 years of relevant experience in Sales, Engineering, or Proposal Group with bachelor's degree.

Computer Skills : Knowledgeable in MS programs (i.e., Excel, Word), database programs, and CAD. Basic macro computer language skills a plus.

Language Proficiency : Must be fluent in written and spoken English.

Other Requirements : Mechanical drawing reading and basic algebra calculation skills are a requirement. Competitive product knowledge a plus.
