About the Job :
The work of this classification involves maintenance of park, golf, ball field and associated City-owned boulevards, right of way, lawns, grounds and other recreational areas. Additionally, the work of this class involves outdoor operation of a variety of general and specialized grounds maintenance equipment and shop work associated with repair, maintenance and refurbishing of specialized equipment. Employees may also plan, design and implement irrigation and drainage installation and / or small scale construction projects, e.g., foot bridges, paths or shelters and, train and direct the work of Park / Golf Laborers, General Laborers, seasonal day laborers, community service workers and volunteers by providing specific instructions for tasks to be completed. The work also involves responsibility for observation, recording and repairing of damage to City property and grounds; additionally, performs related tasks as required.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
Physical Demands / Working Conditions : Perform a variety of manual labor tasks requiring some strenuous physical effort such as lifting objects weighing in excess of fifty (50) pounds.
