Substation and Construction Technician

This Substation and Construction Technician position requires out-of-town travel with overnight stays at various substations across Florida . A per diem is provided during travel. The schedule may include nights, weekends, and extended hours as needed based on project requirements.

YOUR ROLE AS A SUBSTATION AND CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN?

As a Substation and Construction Technician, you will work alongside skilled substation crews and wiremen to construct, repair, and maintain electrical substations across Florida. You'll begin your day with a focus on safety, ensuring that all tools, equipment, and protective gear are in proper condition. From assisting with setting poles to installing transformers, steel structures, insulators, and protective devices, your hands-on work will help power communities statewide. Under supervision, you'll work on de-energized systems while learning essential skills such as rigging, hand-line use, and knot tying. You'll operate vehicles and equipment with care and precision, and support the installation and removal of services and single-phase transformers.
