Job descriptionUnit : MedSurg - 6th Floor # of Beds : 42 Nurse : Patient Ratios : 1 : 5 occasional 1 : 6-very rarely happens Required certifications : BLS Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Primarily a Medical floor with a little surgical overflow. Respiratory, GI, anything medical that Experience or 'Must have' skills : Must have 2 years of MedSurg experience. Must have EPIC experience. Must be able to read and Are RNs required to titrate drips : no Common titratable & / or set rate drips : heparin, PCAs, morphine drips. Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift : Charge Nurse on each shift- very rarely takes patients but will if there is a need. Day shift also Are there nurse aids / patient care techs on this unit : Yes- 1 : 8.
