    Maintains heavy equipment, tractor-trailers and vehicles by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, making adjustments and alignments and keeping records.

    • POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
    • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
    • Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
    • Perform daily pre-shift safety inspection and maintenance of equipment.
    • Operate loader to load customer trucks, haul trucks, material bins, etc.
    • Assist with plant maintenance.
    • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    • MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
    • Must be qualified to do DOT inspections and have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with diesel engine experience
    • At least 2 years of experience with the following diagnostic experience : diesel emissions aftertreatment systems, electrical, air conditioning, powertrain
    • At least 2 years of experience with the following welding experience : stick welding, wire welding
    • Must have the following certifications : brakes, air conditioning
    • Must be able to read and understand English.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must be able to successfully pass an extensive drug screening (includes urine, hair and breath alcohol testing).
    • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background screening.
    • Must be in good physical condition, able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time, etc.
    • Must be willing to work shift and / or overtime overs during the week, including after dark and / or weekends and holidays as dictated by operations.
    • Must be able to follow instructions, take direction well and be able to adapt to changes in the operation.
    • Must be a strong team player willing to help out wherever necessary and have a "can do" attitude.
    • Must have a strong work ethic and be able to remain busy the entire day, looking for new tasks or where else to help when your tasks are completed.
    • Must be able to work well in a high volume, fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
    • PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
    • Experience as a diesel engine mechanic with both tractor-trailers and heavy equipment
    • At least 5 years of electrical diagnostic experience
    • At least 5 years of air conditioning diagnostic experience
    • At least 5 years of powertrain diagnostic experience
    • At least 5 years of stick welding experience
    • At least 5 years of wire welding experience
    • Experience with PTO hydraulic systems and live walking floor trailers
    • Experience with Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Ford and Sterling brand commercial vehicles
