Crystal Lake School District 47 has an opening for an Assistive Technology Professional, beginning the 2025-2026 school year. The role involves collaborating with students, their educational teams, and parents to assess and provide assistive technology tools to support students' access to education. Strategies include using both low and high tech assistive devices and implementation support. The position serves all D47 students, focusing on high incidence populations, with support for low incidence cases. An assistive technology mentor will be provided.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Comply with all state rules, Board policies, and administrative proceduresMaintain timely reports and recordsUnderstand disability-related issues affecting access to learning and recommend appropriate interventions and devicesCollaborate effectively as part of a team, contribute creative solutions, and support classroom instructionAssess skills of educational team members, delegate duties, monitor technology implementation, and provide trainingDemonstrate effective instructional strategies, including communication, engagement, and flexibilityProvide training and resources to staff, students, and parentsWork independently in itinerant settings and travel between buildingsManage inventory of assistive devices and softwarePerform other related duties as assignedSkills And Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institutionValid Illinois Professional Educator License with Special Education endorsementMinimum of 3 years experience with students with special needsAdaptability and ability to prioritize and multitask effectivelyProblem-solving skills focused on solutions for students and staffExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to facilitate conversations with staff and interact with studentsPhysical / Mental Requirements
