Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg unit with required Level 1 Trauma and Epic EMR experience.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a hospital Med / Surg inpatient overflow unit
  • Care provided to a variety of adult medical and surgical patients
  • Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts from 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 30 PM, three days per week
  • Epic EMR is used and prior Epic experience is required
  • Serving a Level 1 Trauma setting
  • Responsibilities include patient assessments, developing and updating care plans, administering medications, and ongoing documentation
  • Expected to maintain a strong patient safety focus, including adherence to all safety and infection prevention protocols
  • Participation in bedside shift reporting and effective interdisciplinary communication is required
  • Delegation of tasks to assistive personnel and validation of completion throughout the shift is expected
  • No travel partners are accepted for this contract
  • RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
  • Contingent workers may not be on assignment for more than one year without a six-month break before returning

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license, temporary license accepted
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum one year of relevant Med / Surg nursing experience required
  • Documented experience in a Level 1 Trauma environment required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • ASN required, BSN preferred
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
