Salary : PURPOSE
Under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Services Medical Director and Director of Respiratory Care, the Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing respiratory care services in accordance with specific physicians orders, department policies and procedures.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / JOB KNOWLEDGE
Current Mississippi Respiratory Therapist Licensure
Graduate of an AMA approved school of Respiratory Therapy
BLS certification; ACLS certification required.
2 or more years of previous experience in all aspects of cardiopulmonary services
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive computer experience and knowledge.
Ability to Intubate, perform NEB treatments and perform PT
Ability to use ABG machine, ventilators, IPPB, EKG, bedside PF screeners
PHYSICAL REQUREMENTS
Ability to withstand considerable walking, standing, sitting, bending, kneeling and stooping on a daily basis.
Ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds unassisted.
Visual acuity for the accurate reading of computer spreadsheets, gauges, computer screens and reports.
Ability to hear with or without correction.
Ability to manipulate small tools and office equipment.
Ability to spend up to ten percent (10%) of working time outside in temperatures ranging from 25 degrees F t above 100 degrees F.
Tasks require exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues
