Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Newnan, GA 30265 (Atlanta metro area) Assignment Length : 12 weeks (January 12, 2026 – April 6, 2026) Unit : Med / Surg 1 / 8FLR / Ortho (36 beds) Shift : 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (07 : 00 – 19 : 00) Hours per Week : 36 Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Floating : Within facility and scope of practice Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Estimated Weekly Salary : $1460 - $1500 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or Compact State (required at submission) Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience (first-time travel nurses welcome) Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all required for Med / Surg nursing jobs) Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system required Preferred : Experience in community hospital and Trauma Level I / II settings Two supervisory references (Manager or above) highly preferred Ability to work required holidays during the assignment Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with orthopedic, bariatric, renal, general surgery, abdominal pain, CHF exacerbations, and renal failure diagnoses Perform Med / Surg and Ortho / Trauma nursing duties, including colostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, IV starts and maintenance, and pre / post-surgical care Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams : Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams Document patient care using Epic EHR system Float to other nursing units within scope of practice as needed Participate in orientation and complete required training modules Discover why Newnan, GA is a top choice for travel nursing jobs in Georgia—enjoy Southern hospitality, excellent dining, and scenic parks while advancing your Med / Surg RN career.
