Additional Compensation : 8% holiday pay in lieu of holidays off; Based on approximately 16 overtime hours worked per week, additional pay ranges from $792 - $873 weekly, in accordance with FLSA guidelines for hours worked beyond a 40-hour workweek
Overtime hourly rate : $49.52 - $54.59

This is a full-time, non-safety, non-exempt, fully benefitted position. Work Schedule : 48x96 or 10-hour shift schedule or alternative work schedule

BACKGROUND - NEW SINGLE ROLE AMBULANCE SYSTEM
The District is implementing a new single-role ambulance staffing program. Between October 2025 and January 2026, the District plans to fill 17 positions associated with the new program. Positions associated with the program are : Senior Single Role Paramedic, Single Role Paramedic and Emergency Medical Technician. Candidates are encouraged to apply for the one position that best matches their work experience and qualifications. The District reserves the right to consider applicants for any of the three single-role ambulance positions.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under direction of the Ambulance Supervisor and Senior Single Role Paramedic, provides the highest-level of emergency medical care at both the basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) levels. MOFD Paramedics respond to both critical and non-critical medical responses working with an EMT partner and members of an engine or truck company on certain responses.

Physical Demands : Outside environment; exposure to noise and heavy equipment; work in inclement weather conditions; exposure to hazardous materials. Essential functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for standing, walking, bending, climbing or crouching; strength to lift up to 100 pounds.
Required Documents : Please attach the following required documents to your employment application : Valid California Paramedic License, ACLS Certification, Health Care Provider CPR Certification, PALS Certification, PHTLS Certification. If applicable, please upload the following : Proof of Paramedic accreditation in Contra Costa County.
