Overview
Cornerstone Building Brands, headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, is the largest manufacturer of external building products in North America with over $6 billion in annual revenue and an expansive footprint. This role is for Summer 2026 and is on-site in Streetsboro, OH, reporting to the Plant Manager and working closely with the operations team.
Responsibilities
- Designs the ability to produce a quality product into the process.
- Identify and analyze manufacturing problems to control and improve manufacturing.
- Develops all necessary process and audit documentation (e.g., Visual Work Instructions, Standard Work Combination Table, Process Control Adherence Audit).
- Assess existing processes for improvement using Lean Manufacturing concepts (Kaizen, TPM, Value Stream Mapping), Six Sigma, designed experiments, and capability studies.
- Designs and / or sources equipment for manufacturing processes and evaluates and recommends implementation of competitive technology.
- Leads, where applicable, or collaborates with plant maintenance to ensure facilities and equipment are maintained and updated toward goals and objectives.
- Provides training to associates as required.
- Collaborates with Quality Assurance to monitor and document quality standards.
- Performs capstone project presentation as directed at the conclusion of the program.
- Performs other duties as assigned and minimum travel is required.
Qualifications
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or higher.Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, and / or SolidWorks.What You'll Get
