At JLL, we are driving sustainability through everything that we do, across all service lines and job positions. Specifically, we are growing our Sustainability practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate, from site selection to decommissioning. In this role, you will work with one of our high-profile clients, acting as an embedded extension of their in-house Sustainability Team. As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations Team, reporting to the Global Program and Integration Lead, you will support the AMER Regional Manager in the development & implementation of the regional sustainability and net zero strategy with focus on portfolio strategy and design & construction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager to support the development and execution of the sustainability and net zero strategy across AMER. This includes a strong emphasis on real estate portfolio management, and design & construction practices.
  • Implementing, through regional teams, sustainability program components in direct collaboration with the client’s sustainability team
  • Robust and executive-level communication, methodical deliver plans, and integration of feedback to remove roadblocks and leverage opportunities
  • Leveraging client tools and applicable in-house JLL tools and processes for problem-solving, and identifying and securing alternative tools as needs arise
  • Understanding the implementation of sustainability across the life cycle of commercial real estate, including critical stakeholder roles, strategic decision-making, and how to leverage data tracking and monitoring
  • Managing regional sustainable operations teams focused on program execution in a manner that aligns with client culture, which requires agile and adaptive behaviors

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of all JLL sustainability program activities across the client real estate portfolio, including development of relevant tactical processes as needed to ensure program expectations and performance are met via delivery teams
  • Meet client sustainability goals and relevant key performance indicators and ensure processes for delivery are transparent, with ability to monitor, measure, and report status
  • Provide direction and guidance on ways to implement the sustainability program effectively and efficiently
  • Work closely with the Global Strategy & Integration Lead to steer cross-functional implementation opportunities that support attainment of sustainability objectives and targets
  • Work closely with the Performance Optimization Manager to adjust processes where data insights and trending indicate needed focus or calibration
  • Work with team to identify building level activities that contribute to client sustainability goals aside client rhythm of the business
  • Work closely with Global D&C and FM Projects Lead to ensure sustainability projects are scheduled, delivered, and managed as expected
  • Establish strong working relationships with workstreams to deliver against KPI targets
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating collaborative, solutions-oriented behaviors• Ensure success stories are tracked and communicated to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to program delivery and client’s success
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the services delivery, and ensure they are socialized for collaborative agreement, then rolled out effectively
  • Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes
  • Execute team leadership by managing effective regional teams capable of delivery according to scope of work and schedule
  • Plan and prioritize activities to meet roadmap and schedule expectations

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in architecture, engineering, environment, sustainability or related discipline
  • Engineering/architecture expertise, particularly in design and construction
  • Proven track record in corporate real estate sustainability
  • Passionate about sustainability and making a real impact
  • Experience program managing multiple and complex workstreams
  • Proven track record of managing projects and programs at a local and regional level, with the capability to run these at a global level.
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to prioritize in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Being able to deal with change quickly and going with the flow in consensus of the wider group
  • Strong interaction with people and can establish relationships with key stakeholders
  • Collaborative, hands on approach, getting involved, leading but also being able to listen to group consensus.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work
  • Ability to obtain buy-in and engagement from employees at all levels
