Manufacturing Engineer (Des Moines)

Walsh Door + Security is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to be part of the team at our Des Moines location. The primary function of this role is to lead continuous production improvement and preventative maintenance while providing strong engineering principles. We specialize in commercial doors, frames, hardware, cameras, and access control systems for projects throughout Iowa and the surrounding states. Walsh Door + Security is a growing company with 200+ employees and three locations Des Moines, Iowa City and Kansas City. This is a full-time position which reports to the Director of Manufacturing.

Job Description :

• Manage production machines including troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and improvements This includes the CNC Machines, Dust Collector, Vacuum Lifts and Welders
• Manage projects including design project requirements, scope, schedule and stay within budget
• Lead and participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and problem solving
• Evaluate suggestions
• Project management, milestone reporting and value analysis are key components.
• Analyze and plan space requirements, workflow, and design layouts of equipment and workspaces for maximum efficiency
• Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase and service of equipment, materials, or parts
• Train and certify operators
• Create templates, jigs, fixtures, and check gauges to ensure the finished product meets quality specifications
• Responsible for documenting processes and procedures related to assigned role responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned
