Copper Island Academy is seeking a High School Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach . Starting November 17th.

It is required that all high school athletic coaches to maintain a valid certification in CPR and AED. Certifications must be issued by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or a comparable organization.

Copper Island Academy is a newly authorized public school academy in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan located in Calumet. Our mission is to prepare all students for college, work, and life success through the implementation of highly effective Finnish education practices while embracing traditional American ideals.

Copper Island Academy is seeking a dedicated Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to lead and mentor our student-athletes. The ideal candidate will be passionate about developing young athletes both on and off the court, supporting their growth through positive coaching, teamwork, and a focus on character.

Position Responsibilities

• Plan and lead practices, beginning November 17, 2025
• Teach fundamental skills, strategy, and teamwork while building our HS program
• Supervise and ensure the safety of student-athletes during practices and competitions
• Promote academic and personal development consistent with school values
• Communicate clearly with players, parents, and school personnel
