Dover, Ohio Hospitalist Physician Locum Tenens
Full-Time Day Shift | Central Lines & Intubations | Epic EMR | December 2025 – February 2026
Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Hospitalist Physician (MD / DO) to join a high-performing hospital medicine program at a respected acute care facility in Dover, Ohio . This locum tenens opportunity offers a balanced day schedule, hands-on procedural work in an open ICU , and strong team collaboration supported by nurse practitioners and specialty consults.
Assignment Highlights
Location : Dover, Ohio
Setting : Inpatient Hospital Medicine | 167-Bed Acute Care Facility
ICU : 10-Bed Open ICU
Start Date : December 2025 – January 2026
Duration : Through February 2026
Schedule : Full-Time Day Coverage (7a–7p) | ~14 shifts per month
EMR : Epic
Team Model : 3 Day MDs, 1 Swing NP (9a–9p), 1 Night MD
Rapid Response & Code Blue : Hospitalist responds to all codes
Supervision : Responsible for NP oversight
Nearest Airport : Akron–Canton Regional Airport
Clinical Scope & Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient care across a geographically rounded unit structure
Perform central lines, chest tubes, intubations, arterial lines, thoracentesis, and paracentesis as required
Manage admissions, rounding, and discharges for adult and geriatric patients
Collaborate with a full complement of subspecialty services including Cardiology, Pulmonology, Neurology, and Critical Care
Support Rapid Response and Code Blue teams
Supervise and collaborate with APPs to ensure continuity and quality of care
Candidate Requirements
Licensure : Active & unrestricted Ohio Medical License (required)
Board Certification : Internal Medicine preferred; Family Medicine accepted with relevant inpatient experience
Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS required
Experience : Minimum 1–2 years of recent hospitalist experience preferred
Procedural Competence : Central line insertion, intubations, chest tubes, and associated bedside procedures
Credentialing Details
Timeline : 60–90 days; temporary privileges available in as little as 1 week for clean files
Orientation : Conducted post-privileging
Assignment Length : Long-term locum need through February 2026
