Job Title : Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical Oncology Location (On-site, Remote, or Hybrid?) : Columbus, OH (onsite) Contract Duration : 16 weeks Work Hours : Night 3x12-Hour (19 : 00 - 07 : 30) Total Weekly Hours : 36 16 Hematology Oncology - NIGHTS - AYA OFFER (MED SURG UNIT) / 13-16 WEEK CONTRACT / D / N Shift available HEMATOLOGY ONCOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED. MEDSURG EXPERIENCE REQUIRED ONS CERTIFICATION PREFFERED ($) Staffing ratios - goal is 1 : 4, but can be 1 : 5 Weekends - variable based on unit needs No set / blocked scheduling as that is not something we offer our permanent staff Self-schedule requests - you will enter your schedule requests so we can see your preferred schedule before balancing and posting the final schedule First week of orientation is Mon - Fri dayshift. Second week is 36hrs of on-unit orientation with a preceptor Oncology experience preferred but not required Floating to other Med / Surg and Oncology Units Patient Diagnoses Lymphoma Multiple Myeloma Acute leukemias Chronic Leukemias Sickle Cell Disease other non hem cancers Other benign hematology Special Procedures / Unit Details Chemotherapy Blood transfusions IV Antibiotics Oncologic emergencies : tumor lysis syndrome, cytokine release syndrome Insulin drips Heparin drips Heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient falls Certifications Required BLS ACLS Skills Required MS / Tele Telemetry Interpretation of dysrhythmias Telemetry -on the unit monitoring Use of Rapid Response Teams Feeding tube care and management IV therapy / Phlebotomy Blood Product Administration Central line blood draw Peripheral Line Care / Management PICC line management Starting IVs COMPUTERIZED CHARTING EPIC
