Material Handler (1st Shift)

Material Handler (Hilo) 1st Shift 6 : 00am-2 : 30pm or 4 : 30pm as needed, 6am-12pm on Saturdays as needed

A Material Handler needs to be able to operate powered industrial machinery. They may need to use scanners to keep track of the items they are moving. They may also need to prepare those items to be moved, by placing them on pallets, wrapping them, etc.

Other duties include :

• Efficiently and safely operating hi-lo and control movement of lifting equipment.
• Position forks or clamps under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, or materials and transport load to designated area.
• Load and unload materials onto or off trailers.
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Assist in tracking inventory of materials on work floor and supply production workers with materials as needed. Clear production area of finished goods and relocate to appropriate area.
• Lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank.
• Complete a daily checklist of the industrial truck and communicate needed maintenance / repair issue is discovered.
• Operate industrial truck in safe manner and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and practices.
• Complete all other duties the Supervisor deems necessary.
