Incredible Emerald Eye center, Inc is seeking a full time or Part time Optician !

We are a fast-paced independent Ophthalmology practice with fast-growing Optical on the site. We are excited to add a new Optician to our team.

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious person who can provide great quality of service, manage an optical dispensary, and can help to achieve high profitability.

General Accountabilities

• Perform vision acuity test, visual field, and ophthalmic diagnostic testing : autorefraction, OCT, and fundus photo.

Measure customer for size of eyeglasses and coordinate frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescription.

May shape or reshape frames.

Prepare work orders and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses.

Heat, shape, or bend plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit clients using pliers.

Assist clients in selecting frames according to style and color and ensure that frames are coordinated with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.

Maintain records of customer prescriptions, work orders, and payments.

Experience with VSP, Eye Med and other vision plans must

Job Qualifications

Education : Associates Degree preferred, but vocational school is acceptable

Experience : Appropriate certifications and / or licensures with 1-2 years of on-the-job training or Apprenticeship

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Proficient computer skills

Excellent mathematical knowledge allow to monitor sale

Ability to sell and satisfy customer's needs

Knowledge of checking Vision plan eligibility and billing VSP, Eye Med, and others vision plans

SALARY : $18.00 to $25.00 per hour.
