Supplier Relations & Strategy Manager
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands, phosphate mining, fertilizer manufacturing, farming, ranching and cattle production, and other enterprises related to agriculture. This position is critical to the profitability and long-term sustainability of Simplot's retail and distribution business. The PSCM must align their category strategy with the overarching goals of the Innvictis brand and broader business objectives. Key responsibilities include product negotiation, acquisition, development, and long-range strategic planning. The PSCM will also collaborate with marketing and sales teams to create impactful programs that enhance brand awareness and drive profitability across channels.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate, acquire, and develop products and active ingredients that enhance the brand, grow volume, and maintain strong margins.
Expand the product portfolio to meet evolving customer needs and broaden market offerings.
Design and execute marketing initiatives that elevate brand visibility and drive financial performance.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Present to large groups and represent the company during supplier visits and industry events.
Analyze complex supplier rebate programs and provide pricing guidance.
Utilize tools like Power BI to interpret sales data and support decision-making.
Collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Manage multiple priorities, including frequent travel and field engagement.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university, preferably in Agriculture, Business, or a related field.
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in product management, procurement, or category strategy.
Preferred background in agricultural chemical companies.
Proven experience in supplier negotiations, strategic sourcing, and portfolio development.
Other Information
Strong analytical skills with experience in Power BI and sales / rebate program analysis.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Experience with strategic cost management.
Ability to multitask and manage travel-heavy schedules.
Deep understanding of industry trends and product lifecycle management.
