Position Title : CVOR Surgical Technologist (Cert) Position Code : SurgTchCrt-6102

Department : Surgery Department / CVOR Safety Sensitive : YES

Reports to : Surgery Department Director Exempt Status : NO

Position Purpose :

Works under the direction of the physician, CVOR Coordinator, and CVOR First Assistant. Prepares all instrumentation and supplies needed for cases, retracts tissue, pass instrumentation to surgical team as needed during cases. Monitors sterile field at all times to ensure sterile integrity. Adheres to all areas of the KHI Behavioral Expectations Agreement to include standards for Courtesy, Respect and Privacy, Communication, Responsiveness, Teamwork, Professionalism and safety. Acts as a role model to staff.

• The Surgical Tech demonstrates understanding of various procedures - refers to preference cards.
• Demonstrates initiative, pulls cases for upcoming day.
• Identify the structure and functions of body parts; recognize common disorders of the body.
