Shipping Specialist

This position offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule from 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm, with optional overtime opportunities available during early mornings, late evenings, and occasionally weekends. The role involves managing the packaging and shipment of products, including building boxes and adding foam. As a Shipping Specialist, you will handle a high volume of packaging, approximately 100 shipments per day, and lift up to 50 lbs. You will work with UPS and manage records within the internal database.

Responsibilities :

• Unpack incoming items and verify goods received against purchase orders or invoices, maintaining records and rejecting unsatisfactory items when necessary.
• Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped, post weights and shipping charges, and prepare goods for final shipment.
• Count and pack various-sized products into boxes, cartons, or other containers, ensuring all component parts are included as per packing lists.
• Assemble boxes and cartons and prepare special or non-standard packs as needed.
• Follow specific instructions for correct carton, wrapping, arrangement of parts, and use of dunnage.
• Apply correct labels, stamps, and other identification as directed and secure packages with specified closures.
• Assist in training entry-level employees.
• Process inputs for receipts and shipments in the ERP system.
• Maintain dock security.

Work Environment :

The work is conducted in a clean, fast-paced manufacturing facility that complies with AS9100 standards. The company is involved in military and government projects, some of which require top-secret and ITAR clearance. All contractors must be able to obtain the necessary clearances and be ITAR compliant.

Job Type & Location :

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, CA.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
