The Data Coordinator is pivotal in overseeing the collection, management, and reporting of student data within the school's Student Information System(s) (SIS). This role ensures data accuracy, compliance with educational standards, and supports the school's mission to provide equitable and high-quality education. Supports Operation Team activities and initiatives as needed as directed by the Director of Operations or designee.
Student Information Systems (SIS)
- Oversee the integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy of student records in the SIS (SchoolTool), including attendance, grades, and demographic information.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal data reporting requirements, including those for Special Education and English Language Learners.
- Input and update student schedules, ensuring alignment with academic requirements and student needs.
- Train staff on proper SIS usage and maintain data integrity across systems.
- Collaborate with school personnel to maintain up-to-date records and facilitate data transfers between schools.
- Coordinate student records transfers and support audits or data requests.
- Coordinate with support teams to address truancy and behavioral concerns.
- Maintain centralized records of attendance, tardies, suspensions, and incident reports.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for SIS-related issues and troubleshooting.
- Administer user access and security within the SIS.
- Manage the secure distribution, tracking, and collection of state testing materials in compliance with regulations.
- Generate and verify internal and external reports for stakeholders, including district offices and regulatory agencies.
- Utilize data to support school improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to testing protocols, addressing any issues promptly.
- In conjunction with the Director of Operations, compile and complete all NYSED and other federal / state data reporting with NERIC and other external partners.
- Assist with lunch count tracking by scanning student IDs and accurately recording data in the schools food service management system.
- Provide overall administrative and event support to the Operations Team for but not limited to open houses, enrollment events, etc.
- Support Main Office coverage as needed for Enrollment & Family Outreach Coordinator and / or other Operations Team member(s).

Bachelors degree in Data Science, Data Management, Business Administration, or related field.Preferred 2+ years of experience in data management, data administration, or analysisideally within a K12 education environment.Proficiency in student information systemsStrong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to manage projects, analyze data, and meet deadlines.Understanding of student needs and the importance of accurate data in supporting academic and emotional development.Experience working with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.Commitment to ensuring equitable access to educational opportunities for all students.A fingerprint supported criminal history background check is required by law for employment in New York State Schools.
