Overview

As an Engineer in the Platform Transactions domain, you will help deliver world-class rewards and service to our customers. This role requires passion for our people, customers, business, and technology. We expect Engineers to innovate and take risks while mitigating impact to stakeholders. This position can be located in Pleasanton, CA or Coppell, TX

Responsibilities

You will build different parts of our payment network, that have high scale, precision and availability requirements. You will be part of a world class team delivering awesome features to Blackhawk consumers and partners.  You will stretch the limits of backend technologies to deliver functionality. You will be constantly leveraging cutting edge technologies on the cloud, and application stacks to build efficient systems. You will be an awesome team player that can learn and coach simultaneously.  You will learn to innovate. You will build relationships with the world's best payments systems while you help them realize their visions. Your work will play an essential part in how developers build state of the art payment experiences that consumers love.

• Write clean, reusable code that’s easier to read and test.
• Build products that perform, scale, are highly available and fault tolerant with automated failover capabilities.
• Operate and scale a rapidly growing product that is vital to our partners.
• Contribute novel ideas and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver and improve Blackhawk systems.
• Collaborate with product architects, product owners, and other stakeholders to create great product requirements.
• Mentor team members on good coding practices and patterns

Salary Range for all U.S. Residents (excluding Alaska, California, North Dakota, South Dakota) : $89,620.00 to $121,000.00.Salary Range for California Residents Only : $115,800.00 to $156,340.00

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays in the year 2025, 1 hour of sick pay accrual for every 30 hours worked, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
