Job description

PMO Squad staffing is seeking a dedicated project manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This person will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion in the events and hospitality industry. This is a great opportunity for a junior project manager in the event or hospitality industry who is looking to grow in their project management career. While event presence is not mandatory, the position does require onsite presence in Ft. Lauderdale and occasional site visits for project monitoring.

Position : Contract-to-hire / Temp-to-hire

Location : Onsite | Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Pay : $30 / hr.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Communicate project details and manage the flow of work and information throughout the project lifecycle; continually monitor and report on project progress.
  • Develop and monitor production timelines, ensuring benchmarks are met.
  • Apply project management best practices to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of each assigned project.
  • Participate in kick-off meetings, conceptualization sessions, and create work orders and pricing requisitions.
  • Track and report change orders throughout the project.
  • Identify, assess, and report risks to project success.
  • Review and close projects upon completion.

Experience :

  • 2-3 years of experience in Project Management, with a proven track record of managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience using Monday (or comparable) is a plus.
  • Experience in the event industry or related fields (e.g., event production, fabrication) is highly preferred .
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration, Event Management) is preferred .
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent is a plus .

    Self-discipline and initiative : Proactively identify and implement solutions.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands :

  • Office-based role with regular site visits for production oversight and team coordination.
  • Occasional travel for client meetings, vendor visits, or industry events.
  • Combination of desk work, standing, and walking during site visits.
