Med / Surg RN Job Details

Location : Hickory, North Carolina 28601

Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 01 / 18 / 2026 – End : 04 / 19 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 00)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,590 - $1,710

Healthcare Setting : Medical-Surgical Unit (17 / 18 beds)

Electronic Health Record : Cerner

Patient Population : Adult and Geriatric

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience in a hospital setting

Proficiency with Cerner EHR

BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Ability to float to all areas of the healthcare facility

Strong clinical skills in treating pneumonia, COPD, CHF, CVA, and cancer patients

Med / Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the medical-surgical unit

Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment

Administer prescribed medications and treatments

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Float to other nursing units within the hospital as needed

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations
