We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our growing team in Southern California. In this full-time, onsite role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care for adults and older adults, practicing to the full scope of your licensure.
You will independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients using a combination of psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and advanced interventional approaches such as TMS, SAINT, and Spravato. As a clinical leader within our San Diego practice, you will also play an integral role in shaping specialty programs, including our TMS and Spravato Clinics and pathways into Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct independent psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing management for adults and older adults with a wide range of mental health conditions.
Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and non-pharmacologic interventions.
Assess patient appropriateness for IOP and individual therapy, coordinating referrals as clinically indicated.
Refer, evaluate, and oversee patients undergoing interventional treatments including TMS, SAINT, and Spravato.
Perform TMS mapping, remapping, SAINT targeting, and comprehensive risk assessments.
Independently manage the daily operations of the TMS and Spravato Clinics to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care.Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver holistic and coordinated treatment.
Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant medical documentation in alignment with Salma’s standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing.
Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (ANCC).
Licensed and credentialed to practice independently in the state of California.
Eligible for or currently practicing under California B&P Code § 2837.103 (“103 NP”) status.
Active DEA registration.
Current BLS certification.
Knowledge of or experience with TMS and Spravato preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in interventional psychiatry (e.g. TMS, SAINT, Spravato), including mapping, remapping, targeting protocols, and risk assessment.
Experience assessing and referring patients into IOP programs and coordinating multidisciplinary care.
Familiarity with California AB 890 NP practice standards, including a pathway toward § 2837.104 (“104 NP”) independent practice.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively within a physician-led, team-based environment.
Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to serving diverse patient populations.
Comfort with clinical leadership, training, or mentorship of peers and staff.
