About the role
The Security Specialist II role at Amcor is focused on system health and maintenance of core security technology, including major upgrades, feature improvements, system-wide changes, and all aspects of the core platforms. This is the senior technical expert on security matters, working under the direction of the IT Security Manager and collaboratively with others to detect and respond to information security incidents.
Key Job Accountabilities
- Ensure adherence to global IT security policies, procedures, and standards while driving process improvements aligned with the broader IT Security Strategy
- Actively contribute to 24x7 operations (including on-call and weekend work), supporting incident response, forensics, malware analysis, and phishing investigations
- Lead initiatives in security engineering, automation, analytics, and advanced threat detection
- Deliver high-quality projects on time, following approved change management practices
- Manage configuration, patching, tuning, and upgrades of core security infrastructure and technologies
- Provide expert guidance on security strategy, metrics, risk mitigation, and innovation
- Recommend and implement technical controls to reduce risk and prevent incidents
- Serve as subject matter expert on endpoint security, mobile and virtual security, intrusion detection, and emerging threats
- Maintain thorough documentation and ticket tracking, while staying current on industry trends and sharing relevant insights
Qualifications / Requirements
5+ years relevant experienceKnowledge of information security principles, defense in depth, TCP / IP, including risk management, threat and vulnerability management, incident response, and identity and access managementFluent in English in both writing and speechStrong scripting ability in PowerShellDesirable CISSP, SSCP, CEH, GSEC, CND, or similarStrong written and verbal communication skillsOur Expectations
