Description :

Facility is able to request a 90-day emergency license.

The unit has 20 beds, with ratios of 1 : 3 and a maximum of 1 : 4 for medical overflow.

Common diagnoses include cardiac, respiratory, alcohol withdrawal, and renal failure.

RNs are required to titrate drips minimally.

Common titratable and set rate drips include Cardizem, heparin, and amiodarone.

Charge nurse and house supervisor roles are available in this unit.

Nurse aides are present, with ratios of 1 : 7 during the days and 1 : 11 at night.

RT equipment available includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula.

The unit utilizes monitor techs, and RNs are responsible for reading strips.

Shifts are scheduled from 6 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AM, with weekend requirements every other week.

There is a holiday requirement of one major and one minor holiday.

Staff may be placed on call for low census, with a maximum expected response time of 45 minutes if called in.

Floating to ICU or Med / Surg is required.

Scrub tops can be any color or design except purple, while pants can be any color except purple.
