Corporate Counsel - Commercial

Position Overview :

Works in association with the General Counsel / Corporate Secretary as a member of the Legal team specializing in commercial documentation. Provides legal research and advice in support of commercial activity and transactions. Drafts documents, policies and agreements primarily related to commercial bank business and occasionally litigation matters. Researches and analyzes law sources to prepare legal documents. Coordinates with internal departments and outside regulatory agencies as needed.

Essential Functions

• With limited supervision, provides legal advice to Bank internal customers regarding commercial transactions.
• Supports Credit Administration in drafting loan policy consistent with state laws and regulatory requirements.
• Drafts and / or modifies loan documents to protect Bank against excessive credit and legal risk.
• Provides legal advice to the Special Assets Department on loan workout issues.
• Develops, maintains and manages relationships with outside counsel and law firms to augment Legal Department services.
• Monitors state and federal case law and legislative developments that may impact the Bank's lending functions.
• Represents Legal on the Credit Policy Committee.
• Regular, reliable attendance is required.

Qualifications

Compensation : $112,430 - $168,700

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, WA. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus plan.
