POSITION SUMMARY
As the New Haven Pfizer Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) Site Lead reporting to the Head of PCRU and Medical Writing you will set the strategic direction and provide tactical oversight for the PCRU. Youll drive operational excellence foster innovation and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. Your leadership will directly impact the advancement of science technology and clinical trial design helping shape the future of drug development at Pfizer.
You will deliver high-quality clinical trial execution build strong stakeholder relationships and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment. You will be a key member of the PCRU Global Leadership Team influencing strategic decisions and collaborating with internal and external partners to achieve our research objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Align clinical operations and technical capabilities to enable rapid efficient and high-quality early phase clinical trial execution.
Set the strategic direction for healthy volunteer clinical trial execution in a world class clinical research facility.
Supervise an organization of 8090 Pfizer staff and up to 40 contractors.
Direct management of 610 direct reports including development retention and performance management
Financial responsibility for operations (approximately $16M operating budget) at the New Haven PCRU making effective decisions to positively impact both short- and long-term site goals.
Ensure compliance with Pfizer standards ethical standards ICH / GxP and all relevant regulations.
Foster a work environment of openness empowerment accountability and career growth.
Support the development and implementation of clinical technology to enhance unit capabilities.
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with medical centers universities patient advocacy groups and local health agencies.
Collaborate with the Brussels PCRU Site Lead and key stakeholder groups across Pfizer Research & Development.
Represent the site and company in the local community as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 15 years of demonstrated drug development experience with a thorough understanding of Phase 1-4 clinical research and development.
7 years experience early / exploratory and preclinical drug development
5 years direct leadership experience in a clinical or industry setting.
Thorough knowledge of clinical pharmacology clinical research processes and international regulatory requirements.
Strong background in exploratory drug development and biomarker development for clinical trials.
Experience developing prioritising and managing budgets.
Excellent communication collaboration and networking skills.
Experience analyzing complex data and making critical decisions.
Site based role with need for availability outside normal business hours.
Willingness to travel (domestic & international) as needed (

Medical degree or advanced / post-graduate degree preferred

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $242000.00 to $403400.00. In addition this position is eligible for participation in Pfizers Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
