Job Description :
Expectations include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of a successful collegiate cheer program to represent CBU at sporting and other events. Responsibilities include all aspects of recruiting and retention of student-athletes, budget management, adherence to institutional, Gulf South Conference and NCAA rules and regulations, supporting the vision of the CBU Athletics Department, and other duties as assigned. This position must be able to develop positive relationships with faculty, staff, students, media, alumni, and boosters while interacting successfully with department personnel and the College community.
The Cheer Coach will maintain control and oversight of the overall program which includes, but is not limited to, creating and implementing the program's operational practices, creating and teaching routines while maintaining a high level of safety of the cheer squad through proper teaching of techniques and safety procedures in compliance with USA Cheer National Safety Standards, recruiting and selecting students to the squad, maintaining knowledge of gameday cheer trends to positively impact the fan experience, marketing, public relations, fundraising, and managing the program's budget, including purchases and procurements.
Requirements :
Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, previous experience as a head coach, assistant coach, or member at the high school, collegiate, or professional level and / or recruiting experience.
