Manager, Software Engineering (Storage and Replication)

The Storage & Replication team is responsible for the infrastructure and services that power Affirm’s most critical data pipelines by providing access to replicated data from across the organization through our Apache Iceberg-powered Data Lake and Snowflake-powered Cloud Data Warehouse. The team’s mission is to establish a modern, efficient, and scalable data infrastructure that empowers all Affirm teams to work seamlessly with data.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to provide hands-on leadership within the Data Lake platform. You will lead a team that is building systems that power many of Affirm’s most critical data pipelines while playing a direct role in improving how we administer, operate and productize this mission-critical infrastructure to unlock substantial value within our business. You’ll have the opportunity to direct the team’s roadmap in close collaboration with your peers, share your knowledge and expertise with others and learn from some of the best on our shared mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives.

What You’ll Do

• Build teams : Lead a high performance infrastructure engineering team with a focus on building a culture of innovation, accountability, empathy and execution
• Collaborate : Work closely with your peers across the organization on projects that turn opportunity into results
• Influence technical strategy : Collaborate with a broad range of engineering and analytics teams, leveraging your experience to deliver a long term technical roadmap that meets stakeholder and growing business needs
• Raise the bar : Hold a high technical bar while driving the improvement of your team’s quality standards and development processes
• Grow others : Play an active role in coaching and mentoring team members, providing timely feedback and creating an environment where every engineer is empowered to grow in their career

What We Look For

Base Pay and Benefits

Base Pay Grade — P; Equity Grade — 13. Base pay ranges reflect location and other factors. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents).

USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year : $225,000 - $275,000

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year : $200,000 - $250,000

Location

Location : Remote - US. Affirm is a remote-first company. Most roles are remote and you can work almost anywhere within the country of employment. Some roles may require working from an Affirm office.
