The security industry can be a great stepping stone to many opportunities in the field of law, security and public safety. With a few years' experience, a more seasoned job seeker can branch out into other careers, including as a private investigator, a Police Officer or Military. It is important to determine which aspects of your job you like so you can pinpoint the direction you would like your career to take and that will benefit that future career.

There are a wide range of skills you can learn while being in a Security position that can help you become successful short- and long-term. For example, the need for great communication is key to this industry. It will be your role to follow given protocol and communicate orders, which becomes necessary when working with a large crowd to ensure their safety. Or even adaptability, you will need to be able to adapt to a number of different conditions and demands in order to successfully perform your job, which will in turn make your thinking on the spot become more efficient with more incidents you handle as your career progresses.

Responsibilities

• Maintain observation posts throughout the property.
• Maintain various logs required for information purposes.
• Maintains secure entry and exit to the Casino.
• Rove throughout the property, staying alert to potential issues which may result in injury, damage to property, or theft of monies or valuables.
• Responsible for the safety and security of intensive cash operations.
• Promotes outgoing, friendly, customer-oriented personality at all times.
• Provides basic security coverage ensuring that adequate protection is provided for the safety and assets of patrons, employees and the company.

The Tribal Council gives preference in all of its employment practices to Native Americans. First preference in hiring, training, promoting and in all other aspects of employment is given to members of the Seminole Tribe who meet the job requirements.
