North America HR Generalist

The North America HR Generalist is an influential leader with strategic thinking abilities who will work closely with the business in Canada and US. The role is full-time and HQ is based in Danbury, CT.

The successful candidate needs to speak English and French fluently while demonstrating a high level of business acumen. S / he must also be comfortable dealing with ambiguity and delivering within a rapidly changing and developing environment. This Generalist needs to demonstrate exceptional work ethic, judgment, discretion, and practicality.

This role requires a hands-on, problem-solving approach to HR operations while also contributing to strategic HR planning.

Core Responsibilities

• Will split time supporting Canada and US based team members. As a result, the ideal candidate would be willing to learn both US and Canadian employment laws and must speak English and French fluently.
• Ability to think strategically to develop and implement strategies that meet and exceed company objectives.
• Partner with the business and HR team to design and deliver targeted solutions, including strategic planning, change management and team building.
• Provide consultative advice and support to senior leaders and managers to address complex issues impacting the business, including mitigating risk and managing situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the company and its people.
• Assess talent across the organization. Proactively attract and develop top talent.
• Support business leaders in difficult decision making and serve as a sounding board and confidant.
• Support HR processes including engagement surveys, performance management, succession planning and annual merit cycle.
