Must-Have :

1 year of recent Emergency Room experience preferred, with pediatric experience preferred.

Common diagnoses include a good mix of trauma cases, mental health issues, strokes, and respiratory illnesses in pediatrics.

Description :

The Emergency Room is a fast-paced environment with an average of 111 patients treated each day.

Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4.

Emergency Room nurses will be responsible for triaging patients and managing critical care drips.

There is a separate triage area, and travelers can perform triage using the ESI algorithm.

Security personnel are available in-house 24 / 7 during peak hours.

Emergency Room staff includes both physicians and mid-level providers, especially during busy times.

Nursing assistants and techs carry out a variety of support tasks, with RNs responsible for drawing labs.

Nurses monitor telemetry and respond to all codes, while respiratory therapists handle respiratory tasks but are not located in the ER.

X-ray and CT services are located nearby, and nurses will transport patients as necessary.

There is no call or standby requirement, and weekend and holiday shifts are required every other rotation.

Scrub color for this position is Caribbean Blue.
