Rehab Aide- Weekend PRN

This position starts at $18 / hour and increases based on education and experience

SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital - St. Charles continues to meet the evolving health care needs of our patients and community. Located conveniently in historic downtown St. Charles our 333-bed acute care hospital is a Joint Commission-certified Primary Stroke Center a Level II Time Critical Diagnosis STEMI Center and specializes in many other specialties.

Responsibilities

Under Direct Supervision of Therapists :

• Assists Therapists withtransferring patients to / from all surfaces and equipment appropriate to the facility / department
• Assists Therapists in donning / doffing all adaptive equipment specific to the facility / department.
• Assists Therapists with positioning patients for standing with appropriate orthotic / prosthetic devices and equipment
• Assists Therapists with other patient related treatment activities as appropriate and providing equipment
• Assist Therapists with patient related activities including equipment set-up and patient positioning in preparation for therapy session as outlined in the State Practice Act
• Maintains the department and department equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Prepares department each morning
• Picks up equipment during treatment hours and at the end of treatment day
• Maintains department and disinfects equipment throughout and at the conclusion of the treatment day according to hospital infection control policies and procedures
• Reports defective equipment to Therapy Supervisor
• Follows and assists with facility infection control policies and risk management procedures
• Assists the Therapy Supervisor with identification of support staff needs for patient care
• Assist Therapistsin therapeutic dysphagia and feeding program as requested and supervised by the speech therapists
