Position Overview :
Perfetto Contracting Inc. is seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team. The Safety Engineer will support the company’s safety program by overseeing and coordinating safety efforts on a large construction project or across multiple smaller projects. This position reports directly to the Corporate Safety Manager and plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement and monitor the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program on assigned projects.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations; prepare and maintain related documentation.
- Support field supervision and project management teams in maintaining a proactive safety culture.
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for field personnel.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and other applicable safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Safety Manager on safety planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Qualifications :
Minimum 5 years of experience in safety management within heavy civil construction (utility, infrastructure, or roadway projects preferred).CHST certification required (ASP and / or CSP strongly preferred).Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with safety management software a plus.Benefits :
