Title : Materials Specialist

Location : Naperville, IL

Hire Type : Contract

Pay : $28.00 - $36.00 / hour

Schedule : Hybrid – 4 days in office, Friday work from home

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Materials Specialist in Naperville, IL. This opportunity is embedded with a leading utility company.

Job Duties :

Review and reconcile project invoices.

Track materials from ordering through receiving.

Create and manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders.

Support procurement processes and ensure compliance with corporate business practices.

Perform invoice review and accounts payable / receivable tasks.

Maintain accurate financial records and assist with general accounting and bookkeeping functions.

Communicate effectively across departments to ensure timely and accurate project support.

Qualifications :

Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, finance, project controls, or related financial roles.

Experience working within a corporate structure with familiarity in business ethics and communications.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.).

Preferred : Experience with Maximo or Oracle software.

Preferred (not required) : Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
