Position Title : Director of Residence Life & Public Safety

Division : Student Engagement

Employment Type : Full-time, 12-month staff position

FLSA Status : Exempt

Reports to : Senior Director of Student Engagement

Location : Jamestown, North Dakota

The University of Jamestown invites applications for the Director of Residence Life and Public Safety , a leadership role that integrates campus safety, emergency management, and residential student experience into a unified vision for community well-being.

This position will oversee a consolidated department encompassing :

• Campus Safety (crime prevention and education, Clery compliance)
• Residential Life & Housing  (on-campus residents, RAs, community standards, housing operations)
• Emergency Preparedness & Risk Management  (crisis response, policy management, knowledge of Title IX processes)

The Director will serve as the university’s safety officer while fostering a residential environment that promotes belonging, academic success, and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

Manage campus residential facilities and occupancy.

Oversee public safety programs, policies, and procedures.

Experience Requirements & Qualifications :

Learning theory and student characteristics for leadership development.

Plan, administer and supervise a wide variety of programs and staff including student personnel.
