Job description

Top Secret Job Opportunity

Help lead a branch-size team of scientific, engineering, technical operations, and administrative personnel performing tasks related to Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile and Naval Computing System.

Responsibilities include :

  • Overseeing the overall quality, timeliness, and fiscal aspects of branch products and services.
  • Maintaining a strong engineering and technical operations basis within the branch.
  • Managing and developing current product lines, seeking new opportunities where mission may be applicable.
  • Providing leadership of the human resources of the Branch by managing position and organizational management, developing employee career growth opportunities, and performing conflict resolution.
  • Conducting recruiting and ensuring the retention and workforce development for scientists and engineers in a branch-sized organization.
  • Fostering continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence of the workforce.

Requirements include :

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and / or final Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
  • MSP / PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

  • Qualifications :

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-5 pay band (GS-13 and GS-14 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following :

  • Applying knowledge of professional engineering or scientific methods to plan, organize, or direct work in a Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) environment.

    Education : This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

    This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-6 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-14 and GS-15. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
