Our client, an Am Law 100 firm , is seeking a Real Estate Tax Manager to join its dynamic State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. The ideal candidate will collaborate with property tax attorneys and practice group members to analyze and resolve complex property tax matters through independent research, valuation analysis, and strategic recommendations.
This role requires a mix of analytical, valuation, and client-facing skills ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment and enjoys translating data into actionable insights for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, gather, and analyze assessment and market data to evaluate real and personal property values.
- Assess proposed property tax valuations and prepare detailed recommendations for supervising attorneys.
- Apply the cost, income, and comparative sales approaches to real estate appraisal and valuation.
- Participate in client meetings with attorneys to gather facts, review findings, and develop strategic solutions.
- Prepare and organize data-driven reports to support appeals and tax negotiations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field (or equivalent experience; 4 additional years may substitute for a degree).Minimum 2 years of experience in real estate appraisal, assessment, or property tax analysis.Strong understanding of valuation methodologies, including cost, income, and market comparison.Assessor III designation (Indiana) or comparable certification preferred; willingness to obtain Indiana designation within three years.Key Competencies
