Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility located in the San Fernando Valley, is currently searching for full-time, Day / Night RN New Graduate Residents for the Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit.

Job Summary

Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Preceptor until successful completion of a new graduate orientation is achieved. Must be in the presence of the Preceptor at all times while in the clinical area where patient care is being performed including tests and procedures.

• Actively participates in a structured Preceptorship program during the orientation that is designed to assist the new grad in developing their nursing technical, professional and critical thinking skills.
• Seek out learning opportunities in conjunction with their assigned preceptor.
• Attends and successfully completes all core and specialty classes as required.
• Complete weekly evaluation processes and competency validations in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to follow the chain of command.
• Actively participates in required experiences, mentorship program and debriefing sessions in accordance with defined timelines.

This position will be primarily working with acutely ill patients (outside of the ICU) through rehabilitating adolescent (>

18yrs old) to geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and / or developmental age of the individual served.

Qualifications

General Job Requirements, Certifications & Knowledge

Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of California.

Prefer acute care experience as LVN, EMT, Monitor Tech.
