Responsibilities

(This role has a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office and 2 days flex-remote)

The UHS Corporate Legal Department is hiring a Counsel - Litigation to support general litigation, including affirmative litigation, and corporate liability matters for the UHS Legal Department.

Key Responsibilities included :

• Litigation Management - Oversee and manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, trial preparation, and settlement discussions
• Managed Care Litigation - Assess potential managed care claims for underpayment or denial of payment by insurance companies and work closely with outside counsel in all phases of such litigation
• Corporate Liability Litigation - Oversee and manage all aspects of the defense of the corporate parent and administrative services company in connection with professional liability and insured litigation.
• Strategic Counsel - Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on litigation risk, dispute resolution, and the impact of litigation on business operations
• Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with internal teams such as compliance, operations, and risk management to develop litigation strategies that align with business objectives
• External Counsel Management - Manage relationships with outside counsel, ensuring efficient and cost-effective handling of legal matters

Qualifications

Law degree with 3 - 5 years' experience in commercial litigation.
