- About the role
- The Project Director is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of the new Integrated Health Campus, a major capital project valued at approximately AUD $350 million. This includes planning, development, design, construction, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring the campus meets all clinical, operational, regulatory, safety, sustainability, financial, and community requirements.The role oversees all phases of the Northern Sydney Masterplan, beginning with the relocation of current services at Greenwich to temporary facilities. It spans feasibility and business case development through to operational readiness, ensuring the new campus achieves its intended health service outcomes.In addition, the Project Director provides strategic oversight and coordination across property and operational teams to deliver the redevelopment of the Neringah and North Turramurra sites within agreed timelines.This appointment is offered on a 3 year contract. The successful applicant will be based at one of our Health campuses in Northern Sydney.

- About you
- Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
- Proven senior experience delivering large-scale health infrastructure or complex capital projects (ideally in health / hospital setting), with budgets in the hundreds of millions range.
- 10+ years of project management experience, with a strong track record in aged care or retirement living.
- Strong leadership skills managing multi-disciplinary teams, external consultants / contractors, and high-level stakeholders.
- Demonstrated expertise in early-stage project delivery including design management, town planning, and authority approvals.
- Excellent financial acumen : budget management, cost control, procurement, contracts.
- Deep understanding of aged care and health facility design and operation, clinical functional requirements, safety, regulatory and statutory compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk, schedule, quality, and changes in scope.
- Strong communication skills : able to translate between clinical, technical, financial, regulatory audiences; negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, including community, governmental / regulatory authorities.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills including mentoring, developing and recruiting a high performing team
- Solid understanding of operational and compliance considerations in aged care and seniors’ living environments.
- Experience managing projects valued in the hundreds of millions.
- Knowledge of sustainability (e.g. environmental / green building certifications), accessibility, and modern health services models.
- Flexibility to work long hours / travel to site / offsite meetings.
- Background in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred (Desirable).
- Qualifications relevant to capital project delivery (engineering, project management, architecture or health infrastructure), and formal project management credentials (e.g., PMP, Prince2, APM, etc.) preferred (Desirable).
- Ability to work in live health facilities context, with understanding of infection control, patient-safety and some disruption risks (Desirable).
