Engineering Manager
Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking an Engineering Manager. This position can be located at our Bethel, CT or Glenolden, PA facilities. Relocation benefits will be provided within the United States only. The Engineering Manager will lead the sensing teams at multiple sites, responsible for design and qualification of new products for commercial and military platforms. This role supports the site's plant and leadership team for sensing portfolio products. The expected annual salary range for this role is $123750.0 - $181500.0 a year. What You'll Do
Drive predictive performance for budget and schedule on product development activities utilizing Eaton Business System tools and processes.
Lead execution of robust design processes and continuous improvement / design efficiency initiatives (i.e. Design for Six Sigma) for new product development, cost-out, and other sustaining activities.
Lead the allocation of engineering resources across sites teams to support both local and global product. Drive utilization of global engineering resources.
Support the development and execution of strategic planning initiatives and technology roadmaps to support organic growth strategy in sensing; leveraging capabilities within all aerospace divisions.
Build organization capability through robust employee development plans and career path discussions and utilization of the technical career path and skills assessment tools. Contribute to aerospace electrification strategy by creating a robust capabilities development plan.
Develop close professional relationships with customers for developing new product requirements, major modifications of existing products, prototype qualification test requirements, and resolve product performance deficiencies.
Support the sales team with customer technology exchanges.
Maintain close liaison with Plant operations to ensure high-quality product integrity and year-over-year manufacturing cost reductions.
Support profit planning efforts for the Plant and manage activity center budgets as needed throughout the follow-on period of performance and deliver profit plan forecast and other financial expectations. Drive engineering efficiency to leverage analytical tools to reduce product development time & improve time to market metrics.
Budget management for New Product Development (NPD) and Bids & Proposal Projects.
Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of ten (10) years product development engineering experience.
Minimum of five (5) years experience managing direct reports.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Preferred Qualifications :
Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
Minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in product development engineering from concept to commercialization.
Experience in developing aerospace electro-mechanical systems / sensors / pressure transducers.
Experience with Digital Design & Model Based Design (MBD).
Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes, portfolio and program management skills, knowledge of customer strategies, successful new product introduction experience, creative / innovative thinking.
Proven track record of driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
