Position Overview

The Occupational Therapy Specialist provides therapeutic services by assessing student needs developing treatment plans and executing interventions prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional. This role supports functional skills development safety awareness and daily living capabilities for students.

Key Duties

• Complete therapy evaluations and generate individualized care plans.
• Perform assessments of cognition fine motor skills sensory processing ADLs coordination and ROM.
• Collaborate with students and families to gather relevant background information.
• Determine appropriate assessment methods and define long-term goals.
• Deliver customized therapy sessions and monitor progress.
• Produce timely documentation progress notes and reports.
• Maintain equipment and therapy materials.
• Safeguard student confidentiality per HIPAA / district policies.
• Assist with schedules checklists and inventories.
• Participate in quality-of-care initiatives and standards.
• Stay informed about professional / clinical OT updates.
• Maintain reliable attendance and follow district policies.
• Carry out duties as delegated by school administrators.
