Position Overview
A Board-Certified Pulmonologist is needed to provide clinic-based and consultative services via Float Pool , rotating between two hospitals in Southwest Virginia.
The two hospitals are approximately 8 miles apart (about 15 minutes by car) , providing convenient travel between sites as needed.
This 26-week assignment begins January 5, 2026 , featuring weekday 10-hour shifts (8 : 00 a.m.-6 : 00 p.m.) for 1-2 weeks per month. Call is optional but preferred for inpatient consult coverage due to no in-house Pulmonologists.
Providers will deliver care within the Black Lung Program , seeing 5-10 adult and geriatric patients per day.

Job Responsibilities
Provide outpatient Pulmonology evaluations and ongoing management for Black Lung patients.
Conduct inpatient Pulmonology consults (if taking optional call).
Document accurately in Epic and DOL systems per Ballad Health standards.
Maintain compliance with facility and regulatory standards.
