Oncology Pharmacist – Pittsfield, MA Assignment Type : Travel / Contract Duration : 13 Weeks Schedule : 40 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Day Shift Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join a leading healthcare facility in Pittsfield, MA for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will bring extensive acute care experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-acuity oncology setting. Key Responsibilities : Provide clinical pharmacy services to oncology patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Compound and mix chemotherapy and specialty oncology medications (ability to mix compounds is required ). Ensure accurate preparation, labeling, and dispensing of all oncology-related medications. Oversee and supervise pharmacy support staff and technicians. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary care team to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Manage specialty pharmacy medications and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards. Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, including Alaris Smart Pumps, automated medication dispensing systems, and laminar air flow hoods. Qualifications : Education : Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution – required Experience : Minimum of 5+ years of acute care clinical pharmacy experience – required Residency : Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology – strongly preferred Certification : Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) – strongly preferred Skills : Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Capable of supervising support personnel effectively Strong oncology compounding and clinical management skills Additional Requirements : Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment Permanent home address must be included in traveler profile All RTO (Requested Time Off) must be declared in advance Equipment & Technology : Pharmacy and hospital computer systems Alaris Smart Pump Automated medication dispensing systems Vertical and horizontal laminar air flow hoods IV room equipment (infusion pumps, DoseEdge, Simplify797) Vocera Badge Fax machine and ancillary pharmacy tools Employment Type : Contract Salary : $78 - $82 Hourly Bonus / Commission : No
